Bookish Christmas Gift Guide

Bookish Christmas Gift Guide

Can you believe we are halfway through November?! If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably started Christmas shopping and have got the easy presents out of the way... we all have them, those people who you get something similar every year and pray they like it because they’ve been gifted it for the last five years now so it’s awkward if they don’t! But what do you get those other people who maybe need and/or want something a little different? Well, this year I’ve put together a collection of ‘bookish’ gift guides. There will be three in the series – this is the first and it is gifts that I as a book lover would love to receive but can also be gifted to those who aren't quite as into reading as I am!

I’ll stop going on about this now and cut to it but first a little disclaimer – items were gifted, however all views are my own and the products have been tried and tested!

Echor End of Day Wellness Journal - £19.99

Journalling is a new years resolution I set each year and then give up half way through January. However, this year I am determind to stick with it. I wont be journaling in the traditional sense, more like doing a brain dump before bed to make sure I get a good nights sleep. This journal is perfect for that, it is semi-guided and explains the benefits of some mindfulness exercises including gratitude, affirmations and reflections with prompts to consider each throughout.

Plus it's beautiful, a hardback and comes in a gift box ready to wrap!

This is Silk – Hot Water Bottle - £74.99

If you’re looking for the little bit of luxury this year, look no further. This is incredible, the outer is made from silk and has the typical insulted hot water bottle inside. I was a little dubious that this would be body length since I am 5ft7 – but when sitting down it reaches over my shoulder! It also has a strap to attach it to yourself to help with back pain although I haven’t tried it for that! It is available in Navy, Black or Grey - I chose navy because I love blue but they all look super chic!

Read More Books Notebook - £5

I can’t do a gift guide without including my own products – this is the perfect stocking filler or secret Santa gift! You get 100 lined pages and it comes in pink or peach. It is soft cover making it perfect for left handers like me!

These are available Amazon or etsy

OLVERUM Restful Sleep Pillow Mist £25and Bath Oil £36

I use a pillow mist every night and this one smells so good! I’ve actually been converted from my other pillow mists as the mist is little lighter, but the scent is deeper and richer. This also comes in a glass bottle which makes it feel so luxurious and special – a perfect gift! The website states "Restful Sleep Pillow Mist is a unique treatment designed not only to help you get to sleep more easily, but to improve the quality of your sleep" and I 100% agree!

I also love the bath oil in the same scent – perfect for an evening of pampering with a book and the sleep you get after using them both is incredible!

I absolutely love my print! It's the perfect addition to my home office, the neutral colours mean it goes in any room and it comes in a variety of sizes. Irena Sophia is an incredible artist and you can choose from a few different superheroes (I know there is a superhero knitter as well!). I also love the Best Friends Forever print which is so cute! I have a 20% off code for all products which is BOOK20 (not affiliated just a good deal!)

No book and pamper is complete without a candle. This candle from the Liverpool Candle Co.'s Christmas collection is unreal. This scent is Beside the Fire – imagine Christmas Eve with the fire on watching cosy films. Liverpool Candle Co. have managed to bottle that feeling and turn it into a candle. I’ll also add that this is perfect for beyond Christmas so if you’re getting it for someone as a gift they’ll be able to enjoy it in the new year!

The candle has a heart of white ginger and cinnamon bark, hints of holly leaves and a warm base of amber, tonka bean, vanilla, cedar, winter moss, musk and a hint of raspberry.

SECRET GARDEN CHRISTMAS GIN DUO GIFT SET - £29.99

What is Christmas without gin?! I love a festive gin, and in the interest of this guide I’ve already tasted it (I took one for the team) and I can confirm this is amazing! What better than to curl up with a book and a gin during twixmas?!

This gift sets contains both the Christmas gin and the Wild Gin made with organic spirit.

Fjällräven KÅNKEN £85

You might be thinking, how can a backpack fit into a bookish gift guide. But if you’re a bookstagrammer you’ll know having a bag big enough to fit a book or two without them ending up damaged is an essential and very hard to come by. This has a pocket on the inside with a cushioned intert to protect both your books and your back from the corners digging into it! Plus you can also use it for outdoor activities which is what it’s actually designed for!

I have the bag pictured which is in the colour Fog-Peach Pink.

The Wildflower Paper Club is a monthly subscription service of illustrated cards and stationery. Every month, you will receive a beautiful, hand-wrapped parcel of stationery to your door. I got the November delivery and I loved it - it was themed so included little Christmas bits including cards, stickers, Christmas headed paper and tags! You also get a seasonal print as well - mine was beautiful I can't wait to put it up once the house is ready!

Fireheart Coffee

In the words of Loreli Gilmore “Coffee, coffee, coffee”! If you follow me you’ll know I love coffee (I have a feeling Father Christmas will be bringing me a coffee machine this year!), and these roasts are amazing! The packaging is beautiful making them perfect for gifting but the coffee is equally as good. Just look at these flavours (I say flavours, they aren’t flavoured coffees these are just the tasting notes!) the Palace Blend has notes of Dark Chocolate, Morello Cherry and Candied Orange whilst the Shady Bader has notes of Neapolitan Ice Cream, Custard and Biscotti!

Luxe Trio Mist Spray Gift Set - Let's Sanitise - £25

Hand sanitiser seems like a weird choice of a gift but when they smell this good it’s almost like perfume! I thought the smell would fade after a an hour or so but the staying power was incredible! They’re quite masculine scents so they’re perfect for him or her – if you’re looking for a practical yet stylish gift this is it!

The scents included are Oud Noir, Oud Blanc and Lemongrass and Sandalwood.

I’ve been using this for the last few weeks and my skin is loving it! It’s so hydrating without making my skin oily or sticky. I have combination skin so it’s difficult to find moisturisers that work but I'd say this is a good all rounder. A few of the benefits are: improved elasticity, hydrating and improves skin tone & appearance.

There is also a lovely essential oil scent to the moisturiser, it's not overpowering and I don't think it would break you out. It states it's anti-aging and whilst I love to think I don't need it, prevention is better than cure so I'm hoping this pays off in the long run!

Blind Date With A Book - The Breakfast Book Club - £10.50

If you don’t know what to get someone, get them this! As it’s a blind date if they hate it they can’t hold you to it. However, the books offered are all chosen by me (only books I've read and loved) so I’d take a good guess they’d also love it! Plus you can add on a notebook, making it two gifts in one!

The gift comes beautifully wrapped in brown paper and string and includes a hot drink of your choice, bookmark and a book. The notebook costs £3 to add on.

I Heart Books Sweater - The Breakfast Book Club - £24

Cosy? Check! Book themed? Check! Under £25? Check! Again, this is my product so of course I love it but the reviews you’ve been feeding back to me are incredible so I can confidently say this is great! It is so cosy, and the perfect jumper to curl up in and read!

Pictured here is white, however, I will be launching a black version in the next few days for those of us (me included) who struggle to keep white clean!

Pippa Bag Koko Blossom - £79

Full disclaimer - I work for Koko Blossom! However, that also means I know how brilliant these bags are! They are so spacious - I did fit a paperback in mine to take it for brunch but it was a squeeze, however if you are looking for a leather handbag to gift to someone or for yourself this is perfect! It can even be embossed with your initials to make it extra special, and it comes with a printed strap as well, amazing!

Little Light Stichery

I have just linked to the shop in general for this one as the one that I am currently working on was a custom piece for an event I attended! I am loving mine - it's taking me longer than most because I am not very gifted in the embroidery department but it's so relaxing to sit at the end of the day and stitch! I have a friend who would love this so I'll definitely be gifting her one for her birthday!

Words with Wine Subscription - £25

How nobody has thought of this before is beyond me! Each month Words with Wine will send you a new book and a full-sized bottle of wine to enjoy whilst you read. I received a gorgeous rosé wine and a beautiful summer read to go with it. However, they are seasonal and their Christmas one looks amazing! They've already sold out once so if you want one you'll have to be fast!

The Cheese Collection Gift Pack Tacklements £16.20

You have your wine, now you need your cheese! Whilst this isn't cheese it is a selection box of four Cheese Chutneys! Included is Apple & Cider Brandy Chutney,Caramelised Onion Marmalade, Green Tomato Chutney, Apricot & Ginger Chutney. I love going to my mums and watching a film with a plate of cheese so I will definitely be purchasing another to bring along!
I hope I've inspired a few purchases here, I have a book specific gift guide and a foodie gift guide coming very soon!
